Weaknesses:
Again, her cold, apathetic personality. She also hates failure, especially in herself. That's the thing that eventually brought her to her end.

Personality: As said before, Eda has grown up to be a harsh, apathetic woman. The only reason for communication with people other than her brother was either to maintain her business contacts, or gathering new ones. She loves to be in charge of the situation and sees herself as the leader of the coalition she has with her brother.
Edric is the only person she's ever looked up to, and is basically the only one she's somewhat affectionate to.

History/Background: Eda was born in a wealthy trader family in Cheshire, England. She's the third born child in a family of four, and the only girl. This gave her great responsibility and pressure. She had to behave like a girl of high class, constantly being reprimanded when she fell out of character. She could never play outside -apart from an occasional walk in the rose garden- and was either confined to stupid hobbies like embroidery and dance, or being tutored. She was never alone, always surrounded by either her mother, grandmother or maids. She secretly longed to be free, but was well aware of her duties as a daughter of nobility, so she kept her mouth shut, and was the model daughter her parents wanted her to be.
While she was confined to the manor and the gardens, she often saw Edric leaving for the town, simply to have fun, not because he had to. Of course she heard how her parents talked about him. About what a failure he was, and what shame he brought upon their name. The thing she was jealous about the most was his apparent indifference towards their opinion. She looked up to him, and often wished they could switch places.

At the age of sixteen, she learned that she would be betrothed to the son of a befriended family, for the simple reason to merge their wealth and land, which was common in noble families at that time. Though she'd always been compliant towards her future, the foresight that she would have to bear the children of the arrogant bastard that didn't have the decency to keep his hands off her during the garden party made her sick. What scared her most was the fact she absolutely didn't have a choice in the matter.
Eda simply snapped, not able to keep up the facade any longer. She decided to run away from her family, joining Edric on his adventures in town. It didn't take long, or they left Cheshire for a somewhat greater town, better suited for their new occupation.

London proved to be a relief for both of them. Edric, who respected his sister dearly, complied to her wish to learn her the art of stealing, which he perfected over the years. They never returned to their parental home ever since and were able to lead a simple life on the streets. Eda was a little more ambitious than Edric though. Her brother was happy with a laid-back life, stealing just enough to provide them of food and your occasional stay in a local inn.
Eda wanted more. She wanted to actually mean something, proving that she could be more than just a woman. She wanted to be remembered for what she had achieved, and not as “the wife of”. During her time in London, she perfected her techniques in stealth and stealing, and taught herself how to fight as well, though that was received with quite a frown from Edric.

In 1188, Eda received rumor that there would be a Crusade to conquer the Holy Land. She saw her chance to give her life more meaning. The naive girl decided she wanted to join the Templar order and go to Jerusalem to help them in their fight.
She went to Temple Church; their headquarters in London. She was mocked and rejected though. She must have been some kind of lunatic? Why did she think a woman would be able to become a knight? They shooed her away and told her to return to the dirty brothel she'd come from.
This event shocked her deeply and -in addition to all her previous bad encounters with them- caused her to develop a deep hatred towards men.

She didn't give up though, feeling that this Third Crusade would definitely be a great historical event. She decided to go there on her own accord to see if she would find something that would give her life meaning. Edric was glad to join her, seeing it as another big adventure. He didn't quite understand her frustration, but supported her in any way possible.

They arrived in Acre in 1189. Eda wasn't able to join the Templar order.
That fact made her bitter, and turned her into a straightforward cruel being. Instead of becoming a knight, she became a mercenary and contract killer (to not use the word assassin) and she was great at her job. Especially people who wanted their victims to suffer came to her, for she was known to torture her targets before she granted them “mercy”.
Brother and sister kept contact, sharing contacts and possible jobs with each other. So, they became a notorious underground power that even Templars turn to if they needed someone to do the dirty work.

Their situation changed when Eda took on another job from a Templar client. This time, she had to follow an Assassin to Greece, with the assignment to gather as much information as possible about the Assassin Order before eliminating him. At that mission, the thing that she deemed most unlikely happened; she fell in love.
She couldn't bring herself to kill the man, and in fear of retaliation from her client -for that client was sure a powerful one- and because she couldn't bear the failure, she confessed to the man that she worked for the Templars and forced him to kill her instead.
The profile of Eda Colton. Yup.
